Merry Christmas To All!

Here is another poem I found that relates, for me, to the holidays. It's called "The Fortress"

The Fortress

There is a place of safety
Standing on its own,
With walls of wood,
And doors of stone,
A fortress as its known
By all who pass and gaze upon
Its merits brightly shown.

Now enemy can invade the lair,
protected by its stand,
With power great,
It permeates,
Within,
Throughout the land.

Though noticed not,
By those so fraught
With ventures of the hand,
Who only slightly gaze upon,
Then turn away again.

It strength abides,
For those inside,
And sends the unafraid,
Outside its walls,
To other halls,
precariously made by hand of man
To fall or fade.

There is a place of safety,
Standing on its own,
A place of power,
With love therein,
“A fortress”
Stands the home.
